Poble Espanyol

Poble Espanyol (or Spanish Village) is an outdoor museumlocated on the mountain of Montjuïc. It was built in 1929 for the International Exhibition held in Barcelona that year. The idea was promoted by the Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch and was conceived as a town which sought to gather the main characteristics of Spain. The project was realized by architects Francesc Folguera and Ramon Reventós, and artists Xavier Nogués and Miquel Utrillo. This museum occupies a total area of 42,000 square meters and it reproduces various buildings, plazas and streets representing several Spanish cities, but inside this venue there are discos and bars.
